Narada Falls, Mt. Rainier This is the lower portion of this 188 foot falls, which cascades over a basalt wall. Its name is a Hindu word meaning “pure.” I liked the lighting, which was warm in the brighter areas and cool in the shadows.
Lyell Fork, Tuolumne River, Yosemite National Park This is a favorite spot of ours in Yosemite, especially in the fall. Early morning here is spectacular, as the river reflects the colors of the sun on the surrounding mountains. The river flows over a series of small cascades with interesting rock formations and many places to sit and enjoy this peaceful place. There is even a small beach.
Vancouver Island, British Columbia The tapestry of flowing water in the rapids of Kennedy River west of Sutton Pass. I think the water looks confused and frantic here -- an effect caused by the back flow around the large rocks in the riverbed. The place was full of energy.
