Dana Fork, Tuolumne River, Yosemite National Park
The headwaters of this river are on Mount Dana on the eastern side of Yosemite. This photo is at a spot near the confluence with the Lyell Fork, just before the river flows through Tuolumne Meadows. There are lots of picturesque rapids all along the river between here and Dana Meadows.
Kennedy River, Vancouver Island, British Columbia
The colorful, worn rocks in the river near the falls make for beautiful compositions. This location is west of Sutton Pass, before the river flows into Kennedy Lake. It is worth exploring downstream from the falls, where fewer people take the time to wander and wonder.
Fern Spring, Yosemite Valley
Fern Spring is a small, but beautifully peaceful place at the western end of Yosemite Valley. It flows strongly but gracefully in the spring and early summer, as in this photo taken in June. By fall, it can slow to a trickle, but still puts on a show when the fall leaves paint the surface of the water.
