McWay Falls, Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, California This 80 foot waterfall along the Big Sur coast is very popular, and for good reason. The water color is amazing. It is one of only two tidefalls in the area--falls that drop right into the ocean.
Autumn Leaves in McGee Creek, Eastern Sierrra This creek is such a peaceful and colorful place in the fall. The sound of the water, the rustle of the aspen leaves, and the bright yellow of the aspen meld perfectly. The touch of red is from a piece of shrub caught on the rock.
Merced River, Yosemite Valley The headwaters of the Merced are in the Clark Range. It was flowing dramatically through Yosemite Valley when I took this photo in early June, 2011. The Merced has produced prodigious floods in the valley, notably in January, 1997. Below the valley, the river flows through the narrow Merced River Canyon
