Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Death Valley I loved the contrasting light as the sun picked out the dunes.
Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Death Valley National Park This dune doesn't change much because it sits where winds from different directions converge, causing the dune to grow upwards with multiple ridges.
Death Valley National Park This is an iconic spot looking west from Zabriskie Point with Manly Beacon in the foreground and the Panamint Range in the background. Early morning colors here are remarkable and varied. There are interesting photos in almost any direction. Manly Beacon was named for William Manly, who helped lead the forty-niners out of Death Valley during the gold rush in 1849.
